Julian

Day 5

Woke up early. Walked 6 easy miles down to an asphalt road, and to my surprise a friendly former thuhiker was waiting there to take people to Julian. Nice! The small town of Julian is famous in the PCT hiking community for the free pies at “Mom’s Pies”. When I got there was a long cue, but at the entrance there was an employee who asked if I was a PCT hiker (guess I looked the part after not showering for four days), and I got to skip the queue. The free pie, ice cream, and coffee was awesome. Wow! I stayed at a place called Carmens that hosted hikers, which was nice. It was her last day before she handed the over the restaurant to new owners. Got an improvised shower in the backyard of a restaurant. Plus five hobo points!

Mmmm… pie

The gusts at Carmen’s. Forgot the name of the hiker who AirDropped the picture, but thank you sir!

Det ser ud til ar gæsterne er mænd. Er det mest mænd som hiker?

I think it is like 40% women, so that photo for some reason isn’t that representative.
